Students from the FTC MBA course in Strategic Business Management participated in a field visit to Kempetro Engenharia. They were received by the managing director, David Azevedo; the coordinator of the Integrated Management System (SGI), Leonardo Silveira, and the consultant Norma Fontes. The teacher and coordinator of the course, Luciano Castro, was also present.
Kempetro Group CEO Davi Azevedo presented the company, showing the segments, clients and some of the projects developed in Brazil and Bolivia. He also talked about the economic momentum and the impact on the segment, highlighting the work developed by Kempetro, which is one of the leading industrial engineering services in the country. “It is a pleasure to establish this contact and interact with the students,” he said.
Quality certifications and compliance with environmental and health and safety standards were detailed by SGI coordinator Leonardo Silveira. According to him, the certifications are important, but emphasized that they are the result of the commitment and the policy adopted by the company with actions that generate satisfaction of customers, employees and society. He highlighted the socio-environmental practices, with emphasis on the environmental management program, which includes actions such as selective collection, conscious disposal, reduction of energy consumption, among others.
Norma Fontes showed students the actions taken in the area of people development, including training, internship and specialization, within the training programs and permanent training of the team, which includes internal and external training. He also cited the organizational climate survey, which reaches 100% of employees, and the quality and social responsibility program. Finally, it detailed the company’s code of ethics and the commitments made by all members.
Professor Luciano Castro pointed out that few companies are opening for this type of partnership and few are the courses that adopt this practice. He further emphasized Kempetro’s people development process and cited the fact that many interns grew up professionally in the company and were hired. He highlighted the experience lived by the students to know the company. For Alberto Souza, one of the 35 members of the MBA, the visit was very fruitful, highlighting the certifications obtained by Kempetro.
