Kempetro Engenharia shared, with potential partners, its solutions for the natural gas exploration and marketing market. The lecture was held during the workshop “Innovations for the natural gas market”, promoted by Bahiagás, on Tuesday (16), at the Quality Hotel, in the Stiep neighborhood, in Salvador. Kempetro was represented by director Carlos Gonzalez and the Integrated Systems Engineering and Innovation manager, Thiago Peres, who was responsible for the presentation. The meeting was opened by the president of Bahiagás, Luiz Gavazza, who highlighted the possibilities of networking and new business among the participants.
With the theme “Engineering on the path to innovation”, Kempetro’s presentation showed the company’s suitability for Engineering 4.0, using innovative solutions such as the point cloud and 3D modeling software. “We have a lot of projects being done with point cloud scanning. The technique is excellent! Reduces the time it takes to scan the plant, is safer for staff, ensures quality and still has the facility to transform this data into a 3D environment. We were able to scan an area of 200 m² in one week, ”said Peres.
The manager showed how the use of 3D projects has positively impacted the company’s performance, bringing advantages to both the client and the contractor. With the entire area mapped by the point cloud and the data registered in the 3D environment, the designer can do all the modeling of the project, without having to go to the field. “We can see, for example, where the hot spots are and generate reports. A lot of information can even be tracked online by the customer, ”he said.
The software also assumes the function of unified database, integrating all project information and allowing the consultation of the different steps in a simplified way. “Before, there was a lot of inconsistency, because the same project was done in many different software,” he said. In addition, the 3D tool used by Kempetro enables accurate simulations of field reality using virtual reality glasses, graphics and animations. “The employee can do the immersion in the model using the glasses, see the interference, check the design and simulate operations,” said Peres.
Finally, Peres highlighted the importance of expanding technology in engineering and other fields, warning that Brazil has fallen in the ranking of the Global Innovation Index, prepared by Cornell University, Insead Business School and the World Intellectual Property Organization. (WIPO). “In 2017, we were 69th out of 130 world economies,” he said.
The meeting also featured lectures on “LNG as an alternative to overcome physical barriers and accelerate the internalization of natural gas”, Financing innovation and the oil and gas sector – Sector Incentives and Venture Capital ”,“ The capital and financing of the oil and gas sector ”, and“ Public-Private Partnerships and Strategic Alliances in the Oil and Gas Sector – Legal Aspects and Business Environment ”.
