Kempetro Engenharia received a silver medal in recognition of its performance in social, environmental and ethical responsibility, which is considered very good. This is what the report of EcoVadis, one of the largest and most reliable institutions in the world in the classification of corporate sustainability, indicated. The company obtained results equal to or higher than 81% of the more than 75 thousand companies that are part of the network worldwide.
EcoVadis operates a collaborative platform that allows large companies to monitor suppliers’ sustainable development performance in more than 200 industries and 160 countries. Approximately 300 multinationals use the tool to assess and monitor the global base of potential business and service partners. Criteria grouped in four areas are analyzed: environment, labor practices and human rights, ethics and sustainable procurement, by international experts. The assessment is based on evidence and with traceability and transparency of the documentation.
For Kempetro’s SGI Coordinator, Márcio Costa, the result is a recognition of all the company’s management work, which has been improved every year. “We achieved, in the first participation, a very good result, with a classification of world standard”, he highlighted.
Environmental, social and ethical performance is now considered an essential factor for smart businesses. Companies seek to improve their transparency and sustainability practices, and that includes their business partners.
Kempetro started to participate in EcoVadis after an invitation from BASF, based in Germany, through a joint initiative, with the participation of the multinational and 28 other global companies. The network’s participants work with a methodology to assess, collaborate and improve sustainability performance in order to protect their brands, promote transparency and innovation and accelerate growth. “We were happy and honored by the invitation,” quoted Marcio.
Kempetro’s CEO, Davi Azevedo, also highlighted the importance of the result achieved, as it shows that the company is prepared for the challenges. “We are following the right path, together with high-performance business partners, generating important synergies to keep moving forward,” he said. The achievement was also celebrated by the Commercial, Helvio Mesquita, and Technology and Market Intelligence directors, Pablo Gonzalez, among other directors and managers.
Kempetro’s Human Capital consultant, Norma Fontes, highlighted the joint and integrated action of the different areas, involving several employees and management. She also pointed out that the actions that resulted in the medal are part of a set aligned with the company’s strategic guidelines and the company’s culture.
AMONG THE LARGEST – The EcoVadis seal ratifies the concept of Kempetro as a company that offers high quality services, in a performance that has provided strong growth in recent years. Kempetro is among the 10 largest project engineering and consulting companies in the country, according to the Ranking of the Brazilian Engineering 2020 (Base 2019), from O Empreiteiro Magazine, and is the largest in the North and Northeast.
